Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Jennifer Sauer has worked as a freelance photographer since 1990 and more recently as a video producer and editor. Areas of special focus include visual storytelling and intimate environmental portraits of people, places, and objects.
Serving publishers, ad agencies, design firms and editorial venues, as well as non-profit organizations and foundations, Jennifer utilizes still photography and digital video to help clients present their messages. She provides concepts and content for books, annual reports, ad campaigns, websites, editorial vehicles, press kits, and digital video productions. Her work has also been used for development purposes and to influence legislation at regional and national levels. Her first book, The Way to Tea: Your Adventure Guide to San Francisco Tea Culture was published in 2007.
Prior to her emergence as a photographer in San Francisco, Jennifer lived and worked in Asia for four years, which inspired her personal and creative vision. Early projects included photo essays on indigenous peoples, comparative religion, and Southeast Asian refugees.
She is currently Vice Chairman of Advertising Photographers of America-SF Chapter as well as Managing Editor of APA’s online Flash Magazine. Please see Client History for more information.
